Dr. Garrett earned a Bachelor of Science from Millsaps College in 1993 and his Medical Degree from Tulane University in 1997. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Brooke Army Medical Center and his Cardiology Fellowship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC). Prior to joining Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 2008, Dr. Garrett served as a staff cardiologist for the Brooke Army Medical Center. During this time, he maintained a faculty position for the SAUSHEC Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Garrett also served as a Battalion Surgeon in Iraq.
Dr. Garrett is a member of the American College of Physicians and the San Antonio Cardiovascular Society. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac Pacing and Cardioversion Defibrillation and Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
He is also an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor.
