Dr. Deumite received his Bachelor’s from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA in 1976 and his M.D. from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, LA in 1980. He fulfilled his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at the University Hospital and Clinics at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
He entered practice with Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 1987. He has taught at Earl K. Long Hospital since 1987, first as a Clinical Instructor, then as an Assistant Professor. He has served as the Cardiology Chief of Staff and as Medical Vice-Chief of Staff for Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Dr. Deumite is currently one of four electrophysiologists on staff with the Heart Rhythm Center, an electrophysiology-based division of Louisiana Cardiology Associates.
He is a member of the American Heart Association, the Heart Rhythm Society and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
