Carl S. Luikart, MD, FACC

Carl S. Luikart, MD, FACCDr. Luikart graduated summa cum laude from Nicholls State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1976. He received his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University in 1980. He went on to complete his Internship at Louisiana State University Hospital- Shreveport. This was followed by his Internal Medicine residency at Earl K. Long Memorial Hospital. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University.

 Dr. Luikart joined Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 1985. In addition, Dr. Luikart has served as an Associate Professor for the Louisiana State University School of Medicine since 1996. He also previously served as Cardiology Chief of Staff for Earl K. Long Memorial Hospital and as Cardiology Chief of Staff for Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (OLOL).

 He is a member of both the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society. Additionally, he serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for Friends of Honduras, The Company Doctor and National Digital Electronics. Dr. Luikart is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
