Andrew P. Rees, MD, FACC

Andrew P. Rees, MD, FACCDr. Rees graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University in 1982. He obtained his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Ochsner Medical Foundation, where he remained to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiovascular Disease.

Previous to joining Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 1997, Dr. Rees was a staff cardiologist at Ochsner Clinic of New Orleans and Ochsner Clinic of Baton Rouge. He has served at Summit Medical Center as both Active Staff and Consulting Staff. He was Chairman of the Critical Care Committee, Medical Director of the Coronary Care Unit and an Investigational Review Board member for the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

 Dr. Rees has served as Vice-Chief of Cardiology and Chief of Cardiology, a position he currently holds, for Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (OLOL). He is a member of the OLOL Catherization Lab Subcommittee and served as its Chairman from 2001 to 2006.  He has been the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation of Louisiana since its inception in 2000. Dr. Rees is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
